How much does the EMT-1 recertification course cost?
A: $325 which includes California certification fee, state test and skills test.
Q? How much does the EMT-1 certification course cost?
A: $695/student - National Registry Test not included.
Q? How much does the National Registry Test
cost?
A: Depending on which testing center you go to, between $75 and $100/exam.
Q? How often is the EMT-1 class
offered?
A: Usually twice each year, March & September start months.
Q? How long is the EMT-1 course?
A: 14 weeks for a total of 132 hours.
Q? At the completion of the EMT-1 program will I
be certified to work as an EMT-1?
A: You will receive a course completion certificate which qualifies you to
take the National Registry test. After passing the National Registry test
you will be certified to work as an EMT-1 in California.
Q? When does the EMT-1 class meet?
A: Evenings from 6 to 10 PM on scheduled days.
Q? Is there an attendance policy?
A: Yes, we require that you miss no more than 3 classes.
Q? What are the pre-requisites for the EMT-1
class?
A: You must be at least 18 years of age, have a high school diploma or GED, have
a current driver's license, and have a AHA Health Care Provider/ARC Professional
Rescuer CPR card.
Q? How do I get an application?
A: Just fill out our "Individual
Form" and submit it to us online.
Q? What are the supplemental materials?
A: Brady Emergency Care 11th Edition (
Amazon.com for $65.72, workbook optional)
Q? Is there priority admission?
A: No, admission is on a first come/first serve basis for individuals with
completed "Individual
Form" on file.
Q? When should I apply to take the EMT-1 course?
A: This class fills early, sometimes 4 to 5 weeks before the class begins.
Complete your "Individual
Form" and submit it as soon as possible
after you make the decision to attend the course.
